Born in Granada in 1980, Manuel Liñán represents renewal and risk in flamenco dance, based on knowledge and respect for tradition. Also, a choreographer and live shows, he has worked in shows for companies such as the Spanish National Ballet, Rafaela Carrasco, Teresa Nieto and the New Spanish Ballet. His creations have reached the City Center in New York or the Sydney Opera House, and have earned him recognitions such as the 2013 Max Award as the best male dance performer or the National Dance Award in 2017, among others.
We will be able to enjoy his show ¡Viva! (Live!) in this edition of Flamenco on Fire. It is a cry for the freedom of transformation, understood as a form of nudity rather than a way of masking. A celebration of the plurality of dance and its uniqueness in which, accompanied by six flamenco dancers, they transcend the usual roles to search for the primal nature of dance and emotion.
