Juanjo Navas and Enrique 'El Vaca'
Bilbao-born singer considered by critics and the public as the best current flamenco performer in northern Spain, Juanjo Navas inherited his love of flamenco from his maternal grandfather, the singer José Navas, nicknamed ‘Pepe Córdoba’ or ‘Malaquías’. Navas has developed his musical career in the Basque Country since he began to sing, in stages such as the Campos Theater, the auditorium of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Sala BBK, the Bilbao Philharmonic or the Victoria Eugenia de Donostia-San Sebastian and has participated in different festivals and recitals. In the same way, he has shared the stage with artists such as cantaor Miguel Poveda, Canela de San Roque, guitarists Pepe Habichuela or Vicente Amigo, among many others. He has released two albums, “Reflejos de Andalucía” (Reflections of Andalucia) and “Digo vivir” (I say to live), in which he brings the poems of Blas de Otero to life with the most classic flamenco songs. He is accompanied by Enrique “El Vaca”, a leading guitarist in the northern flamenco music scene, trained in different disciplines (classical, flamenco, jazz, bossa) and participant in different stage projects and numerous recordings.
