El Purili et Antonio Moya

A young man from La Línea de la Concepción has revived a somewhat forgotten figure in the flamenco music scene: the cantaor who dances. El Purili, together with Antonio Moya‘s Utrerano-style guitar, lifts the audience with his awakened singing. He has an atavistic metal and a slow rhythm, as if he were making a strange romance out of the three-four time. He is festive, but his faculties, which evoke past times based on fragments, also allow him to reach high levels of expression in the most serious styles. Purili, above all, is a rarity in his generation. A gypsy with the art of movement in all the muscles of his body, he has performed in numerous festivals and peñas all over Spain.
