At the Opening Act of the Festival, Afra Rubino and Nasrine Rahmani will showcase a flamenco recital full of magic, freshness and personal compositions.
Afra Rubino, born to an Italian mother and Swedish father, studied at the Fundación Cristina Heeren in Sevilla. Currently she lives in Gothenburg, where she delivers speeches about flamenco besides developing her career as guitar player.
Nasrine Rahmani was born in Australia, to a mother from Mauritania and a father from Iran. She is considered as the female percussionist that best represents the flamenco scene.
Despite her young age, she has worked with leading figures such as Montse Cortés, Jorge Pardo or Juanito Makandé. She is well known for her delicacy, her ability for improvisation and the depth of her language.
